Message This is the most messed up thing i have ever seen in my life. I use state farm and am around the Louisville KY area. Just not that long ago, i bought myself a TT to replace my NA. I also have a 95 Oldsmobile as by daily driver.

Now for the past several months, (after i bought the oldsmobile) i have had the olds insured as my daily driver, and the Z as a secondary car (pleasure vehicle). It dropped the cost of coverage on the Z immensely and made things much more affordable. (190 a month to 66 a month.) Life was good.

Then i get the TT, should be the same deal right? They even quoted me at $84 a mon to make the TT a secondary driver. NOT the case. My first bill is $325. I about shit myself. Whats going on here? I know they take the first month (which you pay up front) and spread it out over the first 3 months to make it easier to pay, but that should make my bill around the 200 something mark. The olds cost me $120 a month. So take 120 + 84 + (84/3) = 232. I go to talk to the agent.

(shows bill)
me - "The Z should be my secondary and the olds my primary"

lady working office - "oh, its in the computer as the Z as your primary and the olds as your secondary, prolly because they can get more premium that way"

me - "WTF?! I dont drive the Z daily why should i pay for that coverage???"

lady - "I can change it in the computer, but they might not take it, i'll change it, and see if they accept, thats all i can do"

End of that meeting, i assume everything will be fixed no problem.

Next bill comes.....$325...i'm pissed.

I call and get the same lady

me-"i'm calling to make sure my cars are setup correctly, i just got another big bill"

lady - "oh well i got an email a day after i changed it in the computer from state farm, saying that they can't change it"

me - "why not"

lady - "cause they can get more premium from the TT being your daily driver and the olds as your secondary"

me - "......!!! ....... HOW CAN THEY DO THAT?!"

lady - "sorry i can't change it"

me - "i'll be shopping around then" CLICK

This is the 3rd time in the past month i have heard the "we can get more premium by having the TT as your daily driver". Personally i think the b*tch is screwing me over to get a larger commission or something.

Seems all fine and dandy, i'll just get insurance somewhere else right? Wrong. I'm 23 years old and not one major company will take me. I have a perfect record, not one credit card, and beautiful credit. I own my own house and have the TT and the olds. Yet i can't get my own insurance policy anywhere. No underwriter will accept anyone new under the age of 25. No one. All the phone calls go well till they get a birthdate and then its all over. This is insane, i'm going to report state farm to the KY insurance offices for foul play becuase thats what it is. They can't tell me how to cover my cars because they get more money out of it!!

But i dont even know if i can get out of state farm, no other company will take a 23 year old as a new policy holder. Has anyone run into this and what did you do?? Any help would be great.

-Eric
